After dazzling millions of viewers on American Idol, longtime musician Jovin Webb launches his debut album, Drifter, which blends the sounds of poignant blues, heartfelt harmonica, soulful ballads, and wild Little Richards-style rock “n” roll.
‘When I was young, I was moved by the nostalgia and pain expressed in the music of black churches in the South, but as I went through my own trials and tribulations, I felt the pull of the blues,’ Jovin confides. ‘I quickly realised that gospel and blues were connected.’
Drifter is the modern expression of a blues life in search of gospel redemption.
Released on the iconic blues label Blind Pig, the album is produced by Tom Hambridge (Buddy Guy, Susan Tedeschi, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram), a multiple Grammy Award winner.
Through his album, Jovin Webb emerges as more than just a contestant on a talent show—he is a first-rate artist whose music echoes the trials and triumphs of his life, transforming personal struggles into powerful melodies that resonate deeply with listeners.
