Robert Finley is a living legend of the blues and soul of the Bayou.
He deserves this prais after decades of hard work on the road.
Finley, born in Bernice, a small town in Louisiana, played for a long time on streetcorners and small clubs, was a leader of a gospel group and toured in Europe with the orchestra of the US Army.
It’s only when he turned 62 and after loosing his eyesight that he releases his long anticipated first album “Age Don’t Mean a Thing on Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound label.
In 2023, he releases “Black Bayou” which gets him standing ovations and a 5 star review in MOJO magazine.
Today, at 71 (°1954) he’s a well respected and very popular international artist that plays sell out concerts, plays support to The Black Keys and is known for his performance on America’s Got Talent (check it out on YouTube!)
An electrifying artist and known for his soulful and strong vocals, he combines the blues with other musical influences from Louisiana in his show which he tops off with incredible stories that only he can tell. He’s touring to promote his latest album “Hallelujah, Don’t Let The Devil Fool Ya”, which he will bring to Roots&Roses together with his “old” material.
We’re very pleased and honoured to welcome one of the last real bluesmen of the new era on May 1st.
