The Animeros (USA)

>

A sparkling alchemy between Latin music and sonic creativity

Through bolero, psychedelic and cumbia, as well as jazz and traditional Tejano, The Animeros do more than just get the audience dancing, they also invite them to immerse themselves in their rich cultural heritage, which oscillates between the lush jungles of Colombia, the streets of the Mexican coast in the 1960s,

Their name is inspired by the Colombian shamans who guided lost souls to peace.

The Animeros, featuring Nick Tozzo (drummer and percussionist), Nicolas Sanchez (bassist) and Mauro Lopez (guitarist), blend Latin music with the creative and innovative sounds of their adopted city, Austin, creating a unique sound.

Their career took an unexpected turn when their music reached the ears of Dan Auerbach, frontman of The Black Keys and Grammy Award winner, who heard them play for the first time… from an open hotel window.

“All they have to do is be themselves” he says of the trio, praising their music as both timeless and modern.

Now signed to Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound label, The Animeros will release their first album in 2026.

Their passion and in-depth knowledge of Latin music brought them together. It’s like a common language between musicians, from which they are able to create and develop ideas.

The result of this alchemy is truly exciting musically, and Roots and Roses invites you to discover a band at the beginning of its blossoming on the world stage.

They will play and exclusive concert at the Roots&Roses festival for their first visit to Europe!
